For me and my partner's one world film project our word was 'hateful'. The goal was to create a story, plan shots, and produce a short film that clearly represented hatred by editing, visuals, and narrative.
The complete this project, I focused on on telling a dramatic story about a relationship built on hate. The story follows a boyfriend who cheats on his girlfriend. When she finds out, she feels hatred toward him and breaks up with him. The twist is that he didn’t care about her feelings because he hated her as well.
During brainstorming, I named each shot and added descriptions for what we wanted to show. This helped me structure the story faster and think visually about how to represent hate through expressions, actions, and camera angles.
My storyboard helped me pre-visualize the project because I could see the sequence of shots before filming. It guided me during shooting so I knew exactly what scenes to capture and how they would flow together.
We used IMovie to edit the project. This allowed me to arrange my shots easier, adjust timing, and add finishing touches to make the story clear.
Filming the scenes went smoothly, and I captured all the shots I had planned.
What I would improve: I would like to use more editing techniques, such as jump cuts, to make the film more dynamic and less predictable. Right now, it feels a little boring, so adding these techniques could make it more engaging.
